To be recognized as a health provider that manages an efficient
and accountable national health system that enhances personal
responsibility for self-care and the quality of life of people
living in Montserrat.
MISSION STATEMENT
To ensure the availability of high quality, accessible,
affordable health services which supports the residents of
Montserrat in their efforts to maintain and improve their health
and promotes community participation.
To promote the health and well being and to enhance the quality
of life of persons on Montserrat by empowering individuals and
communities and assuring access to promotive, preventative,
curative and rehabilitative health care services through the
provision of (or access to), affordable, accessible, and
acceptable, quality health care in partnership with other stake
holders.
The following corporate goals of the Ministry of Health provide
the framework within which the Government’s health policies will
be implemented:

To enhance the health of the community
utilizing health promotion and prevention strategies and the
management of health risks by working effectively with all
key stakeholders including health professionals and the
wider community.

To ensure that the capacity of the healthcare
resources are sufficient to meet the population’s health
needs to include vulnerable groups and that the resources
are managed effectively.

To ensure that appropriate and comprehensive
health policies and legislation are in place to achieve the
Mission of the Ministry of Health.

To ensure that the Ministry of Health has the
necessary organizational strength, capability, technical
skills and resources to carry out its functions in an
efficient, effective consistent and transparent manner.

To ensure that all of the departments are
operating at full capacity with the required facilities and
equipment.

To ensure a framework to guide and measure
the quality of health care services provided (surveillance
system).
