Lands &
Survey Department
To have a fully
staffed and well-resourced department providing information and
services through a variety of media that are easily accessible
for all of our clients, and to generate substantial revenue for
the Government of Montserrat through the provision of a range of
value-added mapping products.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide an efficient and effective land registration system,
and land surveying services in support of all land transactions
and development plans of the Government of Montserrat.
The following are the corporate goals of the Lands and Survey
Department.
These goals
guide programme development and implementation within the
Department and are aimed at facilitating the sustainable
development of the island.

To provide
effective and efficient
survey and mapping services to the Government and public of
Montserrat;

To maintain accurate up-to-date land
information systems;

To ensure that the Lands and Survey
Department has the necessary organisational strength,
capability, technical skills and resources to carry out its
functions in an efficient, effective consistent and
transparent manner;

To ensure that the Lands and Survey
Department works effectively with all key stakeholders;

To introduce efficiency gains in the services
provided by the Physical Planning Unit through an increase
the use of technology;

To effectively assess, manage and regulate
land resources so that there is suitable land and
infrastructure available to support sustainable economic
development.
