Physical
Planning Unit
A
modern, well-resourced unit with highly-trained, dedicated and
professional staff, efficiently and effectively delivering
physical planning and building development and regulatory
services to the public.
MISSION STATEMENT
To ensure that development occurs in the most efficient,
equitable, orderly and environmentally sustainable manner in
relation to adopted standards with a highly motivated staff.
The following are the corporate goals of the Physical Planning
Unit.
These goals
guide programme development and implementation within the Unit
and are aimed at facilitating the sustainable development of the
island.

To ensure that all development occurs in the
most efficient, orderly and environmentally sustainable
manner;

To ensure that all new development conforms
to adopted standards;

To ensure that the Physical Planning Unit
works effectively with all key stakeholders;

To introduce efficiency gains in the services
provided by the Physical Planning Unit through an increase
in the use of technology;

To ensure that the Physical Planning Unit has
the necessary organisational strength, capability, technical
skills and resources to carry out its functions in an
efficient, effective consistent and transparent manner.
