It is widely accepted that a registered and engaged Montserrat Diaspora is an asset and a counterweight to the much reduced, post-volcanic population. The purpose of this Registry is therefore to facilitate informed data collection for the accurate mapping of the diaspora in terms of numbers, location, resources, expertise and interests. Such information will in turn enable the development of policy and projects which build and stimulate diasporic contributions through the transfer of knowledge, skills and finance.
