Coat of Arms
Adopted in 1909, the coat of arms consists of a shield featuring a lady in green. The lady in green represents Erin, the female personification of Ireland, based on the mythology of Ériu. The lady is holding a golden harp, a symbol of Ireland.
Flag
Montserrat’s flag was adopted in 1962. As a British Oversea Territory, the flag incorporates the union flag in the upper left corner, and the Montserrat coat of arms on the right side of the flag. The flags background colour is navy blue.

The Most Excellent, William Bramble, ONH
In 2014, Montserrat’s first Chief Minister William H. Bramble became Montserrat’s first National Hero. The Order of National Hero was bestowed posthumously.
The Most Excellent, Robert William Griffith, ONH
The honour of the Order of National Hero was bestowed posthumously to Robert W. Griffith. He was conferred as a National Hero in 2015 for his contribution and sacrifices for the betterment of Montserrat especially in area of Politics and Labour Issues/Worker’s rights.
Most Excellent, Alphonsus C. E. 'Arrow' Cassell, ONH
The Order of National Hero was bestowed posthumously on
Alphonsus ‘Arrow’ Cassell in 2016 for his outstanding contribution to culture
in the field of calypso, and especially his unparalleled international
