Overview of Department:

The Procurement Department is the unit responsible for managing public procurement in Montserrat. We function as the secretariat for the Public Procurement Board (PPB), handling the day-to-day operations and overseeing complex procurement activities exceeding XCD75,000. Our commitment is to ensure a transparent, fair, and accountable procurement process that delivers the best value for money for the Government of Montserrat.

Our Functions:

  • We provide comprehensive support to the PPB, facilitating its operations and ensuring adherence to procurement regulations.
  • In collaboration with government entities, we develop a centralized annual procurement plan, fostering coordinated and efficient public spending.
  • We uphold high standards in public procurement by implementing quality control checks that focus on value for money, fairness, transparency and accountability.
  • Our team offers guidance and advice to procuring entities on the Procurement Regulations (SRO No. 27 of 2019), while ensuring compliance and adherence to best practices.
  • We actively promote transparency by preparing, publishing, and distributing information on upcoming and current procurement opportunities.
  • We maintain a comprehensive archive of all procurement activities overseen by the PPB for a period of seven years.
