Chevening Scholarship

The Chevening Scholarship scheme is the UK Government’s global scholarship programme, fully funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. It is geared to students with degrees from reputable universities enabling them to study for Masters programmes or equivalent and who show the potential to become future leaders and decision makers in their home countries.

The Governor’s Office on Montserrat markets the Chevening Scholarship to Montserratians who have 2 years work experience (full time or combined voluntary work), who display strong leadership, influencing and networking skills and have a desire to study in the UK. Chevening scholars can study any Masters programme of their choice, and are expected to return for at least two years after their studies to work in Montserrat.

Applications open in the autumn months with interviews conducted by the Governor’s Office between March and April. Recipients of the scholarship are announced between July and August.
