Montserrat currently has three separate company statutes, the Companies Act (Cap. 11.02), the International Business Companies Act (Cap. 11.13) and the Limited Liability Companies Act (Cap. 1.14). The principle purpose of the Companies Bill is to replace these existing company statutes with a modern Companies Act. The Companies Bill had its introduction and first reading in the Legislative Assembly on 12th January, 2018.
